Hosting Facilities
As a VAR of pair Networks, we are able to offer the very best to you. The web site hosting facilities feature redundant cooling, dedicated cable paths, complete two-stage power protection, FM-200 fire suppression, 24-hour security, and diverse, redundant network service.
To maintain 24-hour backups of all servers, there is a custom-built array of backup servers, with approximately 1.5 Terabytes capacity. For offsite storage, a cluster of Exabyte Mammoth tape drives generate weekly archival copies of those backups.
Power Protection
The hosting datacenter employs a two-stage power protection system in order to guarantee the best possible response to power problems.
The first line of defense is the massive PowerWare 9315 Hot Sync online UPS system, rated at 225kVA. This top-of-the-line model weighs in at over 20,000 lb (9,000 kg), and can operate the entire facility for over five hours on battery power. For future expansion, up to eight of these units can be configured for redundant load-sharing.
As a second line of defense, there is the automatic transfer switch, linked to a dedicated 750,000 watt diesel generator. The transfer switch monitors utility power, and in the event of any significant interruption of power, automatically starts the generator and transfers all load once the generated power is clean. The entire switchover process takes between fifteen and twenty seconds; during that time, the UPS provides uninterrupted power to all equipment. When utility power returns to normal, the load is restored and the generator is allowed to spin down safely. At no time is power to the server and network equipment interrupted.
